The K6 is OK, the K2 was washed away 5 years before and never found again. Fred, the owner, also is the founder of the local Hotel Association. Self-help web sites like www.arugam.info have been instrumental in spreading the word: “Arugam Bay” to a wider audience. • Hi Fred,it was the Widder, there was an old man who cooked the late night dinner. We felt that you are lonesome wolf in that time and missed your wife.We stayed in the galaxy for 8 days, seemed like we were that time the only tourist. We had a nice time, but I hope that abay will be more growded next time.your invitation is accepted, yust looking for the right time.I have contact to Naleen from tsunami since that time and yust send him a e-book to get closer to the net and clients.
So cu for a Kölsch or Altbier in your location.
I hope that we will get a nice thai-food,because we yust came back from thailand.
Wish you and your family all the best.I think this page is the first step to the world.
    cu tom

  • Thanks, Tom, for your nice words of encuragement.
If the b’day you recall was one of an Aries (“Widder”), I am even more surprised. Because March/April was a bad time for us. I was home alone, ‘my’ two girls attended the cremation of their mother/ Our last living relative also gone….so who cooked the meal? I was on a diet, in every sense of the word 😉
    Drop in again!
I’ll buy you a cool. draft, fresh beer, anytime!
    Cheers
    Fred
Looking forward to a much better 2010

  • hi fred,
we visit you on your birthday last year and smoked a very good cigar!you remember?it was an evening changing my life.after 30 years visit arugam bay again.there has been nearly nothing after the war and the tsunami.but all the people we meet gave us the heartliest welcome we ever got on this plant.naleen from tsunami phoned to you and you wake up your cook in the middle of the night because we felt hungry.you opened your roof top terrace for us.we never meet before but we felt like coming home.that was great.hope your new websites and the business in abay will grow up again.i/we will visit you soon and maybe we can help you in any way.so,stay happy and healthy.
    cu soon

  • Thinking of an east coast trip. Just for kicks even though the surf might not be there 🙂

  • Thanx for the info..

  • I like your writing style thanks for the info -cheers-

  • Hi C.F.,
If you are on a very tight budget, look at this good site:
    http://sinhalayatravels.wordpress.com/
All you could possibly wish to know about Arugam Bay is actually already here, on arugam.info . Here to be seen by all. We created this site as an open info and discussion forum. But now it is far too confusing, we know that. The last main act I am planning is to clean this site up. And to make all facts, links and reports easier to find. Drop down menus are what I would like to do, but it seems not that simple.
If you are not on a budget, it still is pretty hard to spend a huge fortune in what the Bay has to offer so far.
    Cheers

  • hi fred,

Me and ma friend are planning on a trip to Abay and would like to know how long do you think will be a appropriate time period for a perfect trip in Abay. and how much do you think will be expensenses per person for the stay. and by the way we are local.

    Thanx
    Camilson

  • Dear AbaY Lovers & Friends,
Perhaps this Best of Brits nomination sounds a bit over-the-top, considering that the SVH is nothing but a humble beach-side, Tsu…- knocked little shed. But we need to stir things up, cause interest and provoke some discussions. This ‘nomination’ seems to me another interesting and over all: FREE! way to continue the work promoting our remote area.
All are welcome to be on board.
    Any time.
    At AbaY
