as i mentioned, ‘down south’ isnt the best.just be mindful ok, some might claim to be able to teach you kiting but may not be competent.

  • Hallo
I’m going to Sri lanka the 18th of December, and I’m looking for a place to kitesruf which is nice and near Unawatuna. Does anyone have any suggestions.???

  • hi there calin,

november is bit of a dead wind month in sri lanka. perhaps you’d like to delay your trip till dec/jan?

there’ll be loads of kiters on the south west of sri lanka and the east coast would be just going off season while the south coast will be full on season.

i know the feeling about kiting alone! it happens a lot here since there are only a handful of kiters.

anyway, feel free to mail me dilsiriw@gmail.com or visit out blog http://www.kitesurfsrilanka.blogspot.com

regards and hope to you see you soon,

    dil

  • I’m planning a trip to Sri Lanka in November and thinking to bring my kite gear along. Will anyone be around at that time that kites? I’d hate to be alone out there!
