But the weather is always good, the wild life unique, swimming is great and of course all the religious and historical places may still be around: All have been around for a few 1,000 years so it's a fair bet that everything will still be around when you are planning to visit. Public and private buses function, but none are (so far) air conditioned or indeed comfortable. So it is a matter of talking to the individual driver / operator if and for how much they take your L.B. on board. All approved taxi contractors, of course, have roof racks and every one is well equipped to carry any amount and size of board. (otherwise this site would NOT add them to our trusted contractor's list!) So far there are no direct designated tourist bus services from Colombo to Arugam Bay.

But swimming is OK during the low season. Smaller guesthouses may be closed. But be assured that there will be plenty of rooms available, at any time during winter.
