VISIT Now – For a Safe Holiday

This article is intended to inform concerned travelers of the risks involved to visit Sri Lanka.
And in particular travel to remote Arugam Bay (and, for example Kalpitiya).

Whilst there is nothing ever 100% risk free:Ā
The conclusion is that an island Nation, with just one single point of entry (Colombo Airport) is as safe as it can possibly be.
Furthermore, Sri Lanka now is a very secure island, and all authorities are working together very well, since the Easter outrage last year.
There is tight control everywhere, and all arrivals are checked properly.
The Health System, which struggled, but managed and coped well in a long civil war, the 2004 Tsunami and and many emergencies manages very well. They are equipped and trained much better that most other Nations. Plus it’s a true FREE National Health Service!
In addition, very remote destinations such as our Arugam Bay are far away from any other towns, 50km from any Industry, and again:
Arugam Bay is like another island, on an island.
Why?
Because once you reached the Bay through thick Jungles there is only one single road, via a long bridge in and out of the resort:
Arugam Bay is a true Dead End (i.e. Cul de Sac if “Dead End” sounds ill placed here šŸ˜‰
There is NO passing – through – traffic at all.
For that reason there perhaps is no known Malaria, No Dengue and No Rabies in the Bay itself . Unique!
Just like the endless sunshine with 340 days/ year.
Further: With average temperatures around 30C:
It seems that the new Virus does not survive well
(As in colder climates; like influenza)

Obviously this is intended to promote Arugam Bay.
And would LOVE to attract you to come to us.
Summers are our High Season.
Our main visitors are from Israel, Australia, South Africa.
We hardly see Chinese or Russian TouristsĀ  = maybe because those Nations are not known good Surfers?
This fact is perhaps fortunate for us…at this time…
Truthfully we really believe that if anyone wishes to travel, and be as safe and secure abroad:
Here highly recommend to you Arugam Bay (and Sri Lanka itself)
One of very Few minimised risk destinations you should look at.

Unique, Safe, Secure and with little of NO risk to catch this new infection.

Security Update Easter Sunday 2019

  1. Crisis in Sri Lanka
Please be informed that most social media have now been blocked and are inaccessible.
Therefore Facebook, What’s Up, Instagram and Twitter
as well as the BBC etc.
Are no longer available on our island right now.
This is inĀ  reaction today’s bomb explosions
And to stop rumors.Anyone feeling unsafe, anywhere, is invited to come to Arugam Bay.
Where the Community and some hotels will provide FREE rooms.
To anyone who requires comfortĀ and shelter
(Plenty of free rooms are available)

    Fact seems to be, thatĀ
    5 Star Hotels and
    Christian ChurchesĀ
    are the main target:
There are NONE of those in AbaY
We just don’t haveĀ  aĀ  church, and No Big Hotel.
Also, the only and single road in & out of Arugam
    Is very easy to control.

So it is realistic to assume, thatĀ
Arugam Bay is a very safe destination.
History, in all those terrible war years have shown just that

Nobody has an interest (so far) to blast a few surfers and pot smokers…
This is a fact. This is NOT a tourist promotion,
Nor does this post have any financial motive!
    But it’s a useful information
And an invitation to anyone feeling unsafe elsewhere.
    The Community welcomes you.
And money is not an issue at all.

“Tourist” Police shuts down Info pages

“Tourist” Police action shuts down AbaY’s Info pages

This week the so-called “Tourist” Police raided the premises of arugam.info‘s only sponsor.
The resulting fine – for a small technicality, held up by the local in-famous Buy cabgolin tab ‘Red Tape’ came to about 1 year’s salary.
That alone took everyone by surprise.
With no funding we can no longer continue to support this as well as all of our other Tourist Promotion initiatives.
Sorry!

Arugam’ “Tourist” Police Station

This Community and Tourist promotion web site
Plus all our other, associated A?Info & promo pages, worldwide
are strictly non-commercial.
They are paid for and maintained by a private initiative only
As bad luck has it, all annual hosting fees are due now.
Our sponsors are forced to pay a huge fine (Rs./ 100,000) or $780

That means that any further support for Tourism will come to a halt, due to cash flow problems. This usually pretty minor case was caused by weird police action over the sale of a few bottles of local BEER.

All other “Tourist” Resorts in Sri Lanka do NOT face similar drastic action and totally over the top penalties. Why Arugam Bay?
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Illegal constructions out in coastal belt

* More powers to CCD by new law

*Demolition costs to be recovered from offenders Xenical comprar online argentina

The Coast Conservation Department (CCD) has decided to take strict action against illegal constructions in the coastal belt using the new powers vested in it under the amended Coastal Conservation Act approved by Parliament recently.

CCD Director General Anil Premaratne told the Daily News that court cases will be filed against owners of these illegal buildings and a fine not less than Rs 5,000 and not more than Rs 25,000 will be imposed on them at the first conviction.

He said that if the offenders who maintain the illegal constructions continue the same offence disregarding the court decision, the amended Act has the provisions to impose a fine not less than Rs 1,000 and not more than Rs 5,000 per day on them.

He said that unauthorized constructions in the coastal belt have resulted in accelerated coastal erosion and pollution and therefore the CCD has decided to strictly implement these laws.

Premaratne said that the unauthorized buildings which are built very close to the sea will be demolished and the expenses spent on them will be recovered from the offenders. He said that several illegal constructions in Arugam Bay were demolished last week and this process will also be carried out in other coastal areas.

He observed that the coastal stretch in the Southern Province comprises the majority of illegal constructions.

He also explained that legal action will also be sought for the illegal fillings of water bodies and sand mining. The amended Act has also made provisions to arrest an offender without a warrant for violating its laws and regulations aiming for an efficient coastal conservation and coastal resource management.
