Arugam Taxi Initiative has two terminals:
* One at the International Airport
* One at the #50 SVH, ‘City Centre’, Arugam Bay
How it works:
- You order a taxi as above, best by email, confirmed by phone
- You give us your flight number & date
- Mr. Shana will greet you in the arrivals hall, after Customs
- We will select the best vehicle according to number of passengers, surf boards, bags etc.
- And you will be in Arugam Bay within 8 hours or so
- You pay the driver the rate agreed with Mr. Shana
- Arugamtaxi rates are always much better than any other airport quote; we try to give you the best value and service available on your chosen day.
- Upon return, if there is a vehicle empty at the new Arugam Bay terminal, we will take you back for just 8,000Rs./
To save costs, we encourage passengers to share a ride.
This will save the environment, fuel, make fresh contacts and friends and free some holiday cash for all of you.

Dear Abha & SVH Team,
I am planing to make schedule trips from Colombo to Arugambay on weekends.
Then you can inform your guests to book with me and plan their visit to Sri Lanka.
Therefore I can offer an economical rate for the trip as well.
- There should be minimum of 03 guest per one trip.
- Rate per person is Rs.7000 (USD 70)

I will have with me windsurfing board (260CM length) plus sail/mast bag. Looking at probably heading straight to Aragum then.

Therefore I do not like to offer you the normal rate that I charge for 02 guests per one way trip(Euro 150),because it is too much for a single traveller.
However that is the minimum I do charge to cover my expenses. I hope you will understand me.

my girlfriend and me will come to visit Sri Lanka the 1th of August!
I was in Sri Lanka last year yet, when Mr. Shana trasported us from Colombo to Arugam in a confortable van.
I would like to repeat the same travel.
We will arrive at Colombo Bandaranayike Airport the 1th of August, landing at 08:45 with the Emirates EK 650 flight.
We are 2 people with 2 surfboard bags and 2 backpacks.

There will be booking on 15 Aug 2010 (morning) from Colombo to Arugambay, but it has not confirmed yet.
if I get the confirmation for that trip, I can offer you a return taxi from Abay to CMB (in the evening) for the rate of Euros 70.

Hi! I am an American here in Colombo with some friends. We are renting a van (with air-con) from Colombo to take a weekend trip to Arugam Bay. In the interest of lowering the price by dividing it amongst more people, we would love to share! Please call me if you are interested. We think it will be about 4,000/person roundtrip, but it depends on how many people we find.
We plan to leave Colombo Friday, Aug 13, around 5pm, and leave Arugam Bay Sunday, Aug 13, around 5pm. The journey should be about 8 hours by van.
