As mentioned elsewhere, something always seems to happen on Full Moon nights in and around your favorite Bay.
This years VAP Poya Day (October 6th) is no exception. A recovered Simon wants to share his thoughts with you:
“Dear friends from the past {who have sent some lovely messages of love and support over my recent mishap} and any new friends who are planning to come to Arugam Bay, I would like to send a warning and advice on a couple of minefields you should avoid at all costs.
Its all fairly obvious stuff really, not rocket science, and stuff that only an idiot like Me would fall into, but I can not stress enough that you should under no circumstances be tempted into the sort of black hole that I so blatantly walked into and not so blindly as I would like to claim.
To start off with I would like to recommend Arugam Bay to anyone who enjoys sun sea and surf in a totally unspoilt environment [don't we all.] there is really something for everybody here, for the surfing guys theres great surf and cute girls in bikinis, for the girls theres fit young bronzed surfers and beautiful palm fringed beaches and great bars with good food and music. and for the slightly older crowd there are wild life Safari’s were you will see a concentration of some of the greatest wild life you will see anywhere in the world.
I’m Forty four years old and have traveled the world to some of the most beautiful fortunately Iv’e tried my best to be a good person and not to involve anyone else in any of my personal fuck ups and have gone through a slow suicide over many years but have had long periods of sobriety in which Iv’e managed to run successful businesses and had loving and fullfiling relationships, both with my very close family, friends and lovers.
Drugs have obviously affected my personality, but despite it all Iv’e always tried to be a good and honest person.
Unfortunately on this particular occasion two young innocent fantastic kids in there early twenty’s we were also caught up in this crazy escapade, with no knowledge of the come of trafficking and are still awaiting
trial, or a bail hearing in the high court, which could take up to three months, in which time they will be sent back to Batticoloa jail.”

Hi Simon, hope you are ok! Are you staying in Abay, I am thinking of coming to visit in march, and I really wanna talk to you again. We had some fun/hard/relaxed days together and I want to experience the chilled out life in abay again, and hope you will be there if I decide to go.
My mom says hallo by the way, she might visit again if I come like last time, but maybe we meet in thailand and have holiday there together.
