What we did at AbaY

For all who don’t know what we did and do at AbaY

In the past AbHa has been too modest and busy to waste time and money to print fancy posters with any of our activities.

Maybe we should have changed our style and do as all the others; if so it would look something like below.

And the most remarkable aspect is:
It was all done for less than the price of one simple 4×4 machine.
Our total budget came to 28,000$ and no more.

1.) More than 28,000 Meals given away: For Free to anyone
2.) Carpenter workshop established. Still working every day
3.) 28,000 Litre of fine Drinking water supplied
4.) 400+ packs (20) of Cigarettes given away. To calm victims down.
5.) Entire store of strong drinks given away. Also a medicine.
6.) Entire dry ration store 6,000 kg given away
7.) Standby Generation stations maintained
8.) Work for food/money program for 500+ men/day
9.) Helped 8 other businesses to reopen quickly
10.) Cash grants to many neighbours given
11.) Water pumps supplied to Komari
12.) Liaison with worried relatives & friends
13.) Urgent Medical treatment provided
14.) 3,000+ bags of cement given away
15.) 600 low energy lamps supplied
16.) Approx. 100km of cable installed
17.) Two Corrupt government men arrested
18.) DEMIRA invited and assisted
19.) First outboard motors donated with DEMIRA
20.) Provided shelter for more than 200 people
21.) Provided free premises & rooms for the Red Cross

All the above, and much more was done in the first few weeks BEFORE anyone came to our remote location.
We are sad that we could not continue this valuable work due to no funds at all since March.
Not much else has happened here since.

Whatever you do:
Do not give anything to wasteful a self promoting Organization unless you are certain that the money goes to the cause you have donated it for.
